Financing your project in the Aude: agriculture, fishing and territorial projects
Discover public support in the Aude: agriculture, fishing, farm succession, agricultural water and territorial projects. Conditions and official sources.
Introduction
The Département de l'Aude has developed a strategy to support agriculture and fishing, with interventions on succession, adaptation to climate change, agricultural water management, local supply chains and professional organisations. Individual aid, aid paid to organisations and infrastructure investments must be distinguished.
Who is this guide for?
For farmers, fishing and aquaculture professionals, trade organisations, advisory bodies and territorial project owners. Eligibility varies greatly depending on the action: some measures directly benefit the farmer, others are paid to an organisation or fund collective equipment.
Agriculture and fishing strategy
The Département has adopted an intervention regulation for its agricultural and fisheries strategy. The official text covers several areas and must be read to identify the exact measure, the beneficiaries, the caps and the available budget envelope.
Farm succession
The departmental regulations provide support for preparing succession via an advisory body accredited by the Région. The support mentioned is €150 per day, up to a limit of four days, i.e. €600 per project leader, paid to the advisory body and subject to the annual budget envelope.
Agriculture and climate adaptation
The departmental priorities concern in particular adapting practices to climate change, preserving water resources and the resilience of supply chains. Each aid must be linked to a precise measure in the regulations, and not inferred from the mere existence of a strategy.
Agricultural water management
The Département invests in irrigation networks and the modernisation of pumping stations. These investments may fall under collective infrastructure; they do not mean that an individual grant is available for every farm. Check the project owner and the active investment programmes.
Agricultural and fishing supply chains, and local promotion
The Département also supports professional organisations, the structuring of supply chains and certain events promoting local products. Grants to organisations must be distinguished from direct aid to commercial businesses.
Animal health and the departmental laboratory
The departmental laboratory for testing and research plays a service role for supply chains. Coverage of testing costs or a subsidised service is not necessarily a cash grant: precisely document the benefit granted to the farm.
Aid to municipalities and collective projects
Territorial grants can fund public investments related to attractiveness, heritage, water or tourism. They are reserved for eligible project owners and must not be offered as individual aid to businesses.
Businesses outside agriculture and fishing
For industrial, commercial or service businesses, first examine schemes from the Région Occitanie, the State, Bpifrance, ADEME and intermunicipal bodies. The Département de l'Aude notes that its economic remit is limited; do not invent a general departmental grant.
Preparing an application
Depending on the measure: quotes, the financing plan, agricultural or professional status, a description of the investments, environmental certificates, proof of accredited advice, co-funding documents and authorisations. Check the rules on committing to expenses before any work starts.
Status of the schemes
The 2024 regulations are a useful official source but do not alone prove that a budget envelope remains open in October 2026. Confirm the round and the funding available with the case-handling department before applying.
Avoiding false positives
Do not equate historical exceptional measures (frost, health crises or one-off emergency funds) with permanent aid. Do not convert budget spending on collective equipment into individual aid for each business.
