Financing your project in Maine-et-Loire: agriculture, tourism and local development

Grants from Maine-et-Loire for agricultural processing, tourism projects and local development. Amounts, deadlines and departmental sources.

Introduction

The Département de Maine-et-Loire publishes a grants guide for professionals, businesses, associations and local authorities. Schemes directly useful to the local economy include the grant for on-farm processing and marketing of agricultural products, and several tourism grants. Calls for projects have their own timelines and must be checked before filing.

Who is this guide for?

This guide is for businesses, farms, founders, buyers and local economy organisations established in the département. Criteria vary according to legal status, sector, location, size, expenses, timeline and co-financing.

Understanding who funds what

Distinguish grants directly carried by the Département from schemes co-financed with the Region or the State, national programmes accessible locally, and loans or support provided by partners. Being located in the territory does not automatically turn a regional, national or private grant into a departmental one.

Direct departmental grants

The departmental portal centralises grants and calls for projects. Eligibility depends on the applicant's status, the size of the project, the area and the expenses involved. Subsidies to local authorities or associations are not grants directly accessible to every business.

Agricultural and rural grants

The grant for on-farm processing and marketing of agricultural products targets small farms and projects involving workshops, packaging, storage or sales. For 2026, the campaign mentioned on the official page ran from 15 April to 31 August: as of 13 October 2026, it must be classified as closed, unless a new edition has been published.

Business creation, employment and local development

The Département also offers tourism grants, in particular for tourist events or cycling routes, generally intended for local authorities, associations or applicants deemed eligible on a case-by-case basis. Calls for projects on integration and support may still have open deadlines, but they are not general grants for businesses.

Complementary funding

Review the departmental guide, current calls for projects, the Région Pays de la Loire, FEADER and inter-municipal bodies. Before presenting a scheme as open, check the deadline and the version of the regulations.

How to prepare your application

Prepare the project description, financing plan, quotes, recent accounts, proof of status and declarations of public aid already received. Do not commit to expenses before checking the scheme's rules.

Checking the status of the grant

An information page, a partnership agreement or a budget announcement does not guarantee that an individual funding window is open. Check the regulations, the dates, the reviewing authority and the application form.

Combining aid and aid scheme

Rules on combining aid depend on the scheme, the European State aid regime and whether the same expenses are involved. Declare any aid already received and check the applicable de minimis rules or caps.

Points of caution

Do not confuse a grant, a repayable advance, a loan, support services, public procurement and funding awarded to a partner organisation. Closed campaigns are kept for historical reference and monitoring purposes, but must not be shown as open.

Schemes identified in this batch

The associated tracking tab presents five schemes or leads drawn from institutional sources. Entries without a matched unique official identifier are research leads and do not yet constitute validated grant records.
