Financing your project in the Ardennes: agricultural grants, local projects and subsidies
Guide to grants in the Ardennes: agricultural schemes, support for associations, territorial projects and guidance toward regional and national grants.
Introduction
In the Ardennes, a distinction must be made between departmental grants for associations and projects of territorial interest, agricultural schemes from the State or the Region, and economic grants that mainly fall under the Region or inter-municipal authorities. Grants awarded to a named organisation do not constitute an application window open to all businesses.
Who is this guide for?
This guide is for businesses, farms, associations, project leads and local stakeholders based in the department. Eligibility depends on the scheme, the applicant's status, the sector, the location, the expenses and the timetable.
Understanding who funds what
Distinguish grants directly carried by the Département, co-financed programmes, State or Region grants, and partner support. A grant voted in favour of an association or a platform does not automatically become an individual grant for every business.
Direct departmental grants
The factsheets below only retain schemes for which the institutional source establishes the link with the Département. Named grant decisions, calls for projects and guidance portals are identified as such; they must not be presented as application windows open to all.
Agricultural and rural grants
For farms, check measures for setting up, livestock, investment, environment, processing and short-circuit marketing. CAP (Common Agricultural Policy) grants, FEADER, crisis measures and DDT (departmental agricultural directorate) schemes remain tied to their actual funder.
Business creation, employment and territorial development
Integration or support measures may target specific audiences or structures. They do not necessarily correspond to a grant paid to the business. For economic investments, check the Region/EPCI's area of responsibility and any delegation.
Complementary funding
Look at grants from the Région Grand Est, the State, EPCIs, ADEME, Bpifrance, FranceAgriMer and European funds when the project matches. Partner schemes must keep their actual funder and must not be duplicated as departmental grants.
How to prepare your application
Prepare a project description, the financing plan, quotes, accounts, a registration extract, headcount, turnover, the site address and sector-specific supporting documents. Check whether submission before incurring expenses is mandatory.
Checking the status of the grant
An information page or a budget decision does not prove that an application window is open. Check the deadline, the rules, the remaining budget, the form and the legal beneficiary. Closed schemes remain in the historical record, without being presented as available.
Combination rules and aid scheme
Combination rules depend on the rules and the applicable State aid scheme. Check combination on the same expenses, de minimis aid and regional/European co-financing before submission.
Points of caution
Do not confuse a grant, aid in kind, a commercial outlet, a loan, support services, funding for an operator and a public procurement contract.
Schemes identified in the batch
The associated tracking tab presents five schemes or leads from institutional sources. Departmental schemes, national grants and partner grants are kept separate; unconfirmed items remain to be verified.

Check which grants fit your business
Check which schemes could potentially be mobilised based on your SIRET number, your sector, the project's location and your expenses. The report should distinguish open grants, leads to monitor, schemes reserved for other project leads, and partner funding.
