Financing your project in the Var: agricultural grants, investment and local development

Identify grants in the Var: departmental schemes, agriculture, investment, transition and partner funding. Conditions and official sources.

Introduction

In the Var, departmental policy notably targets the adaptation and modernisation of agricultural and forestry economies, rural land, water management and niche sectors. Several measures are linked to FEADER 2023-2027: the relevant component, the managing authority, the co-funder and the eligible applicant must be identified.

Who is this guide for?

This guide is aimed at farm businesses, companies, collective structures and project holders based in the Var department. Eligibility depends on each regulation and the beneficiary's status; some grants are reserved for local authorities, CUMAs (agricultural equipment cooperatives), associations or professional bodies.

Understanding who funds what

Separate grants awarded directly by the Département, schemes co-funded with the Région or FEADER, national grants, and funding from partner operators. The location of the business does not turn a regional or European grant into a departmental one.

Direct departmental grants

The tracking below lists schemes identified on official portals. For each one, check the regulation, the legal beneficiary, eligible expenses, the rate, the ceiling, the timetable and the filing channel. A presentation page alone does not confirm that an application window is open.

Agricultural and rural grants

The schemes identified relate in particular to setting up, modernisation, sectors, collective investments and rural infrastructure. Crisis measures and European calls must keep their legal funder and their own deadlines.

Territorial investments and transition

Some measures target communes, EPCIs, CUMAs or holders of collective infrastructure rather than individual companies. Check the eligible beneficiary before including the grant in a private financing plan.

Complementary funding

Examine schemes from the Région Sud, FEADER, the State, ADEME, Bpifrance and inter-municipal bodies depending on the project. Each line must keep its legal funder and its own status.

How to prepare your application

Prepare the project description, the financing plan, quotes, recent accounts, registration details, headcount and turnover figures, and sector-specific supporting documents. Check whether expenses must be committed after filing or after approval.

Checking the status of the grant

Check the last update date, the deadline, the available budget, the regulation in force and the filing channel. Closed calls remain useful for history but must not be shown as currently available.

Cumulation and aid scheme

Cumulation rules depend on the scheme, the State-aid regime and the expenses funded. Only state that cumulation is possible if the source or regulation confirms it; otherwise, indicate “to be checked in the regulation”.

Points of caution

Do not confuse a grant, a repayable advance, a loan, a guarantee, an exemption, support, and a public contract. Aid to a collective structure or a local authority is not a guaranteed individual grant to a company.

Schemes recorded in this batch

Lines without an official identifier matched in the reference database remain unvalidated tracking entries and are not counted as validated grants.

Check which schemes your business could potentially access based on your SIRET number, your sector, your location and your project. The report should distinguish between open grants, closed schemes, grants reserved for other beneficiaries, and leads still to be confirmed.
