In brief

Le Mans Métropole supports the relocation, investment and innovation of businesses in the area. Its attractiveness department supports projects and offers a dedicated local scheme for investment and innovation, the Contrat local d'investissement et d'innovation (CL2I, Local Investment and Innovation Contract), planned for the 2026–2028 period.

Projects that can be supported

  • Relocation of productive activities: setting up a registered office or an establishment in the metropolitan area.

  • Equipment investment: machinery and equipment aimed at modernization, automation or robotization.

  • Intangible investment: certain software and digital tools with high added value, depending on the business category.

  • Innovation and competitiveness: strategic development projects and improvements to production tools.

  • Ecological transition and employment: possible combination with regional schemes, energy renovation aid and hiring aid.

Financial aid identified

The 2026–2028 CL2I includes an investment aid component for small, medium-sized and mid-size businesses (TPE, PME, ETI). The official page notably states: a project to set up a new activity involving the establishment of the registered office or an establishment in the area; total investment exceeding €100,000 excl. VAT; tangible or intangible expenses with high added value, subject to the rules specific to the business size category; a stated rate of 60% of eligible expenses for small businesses and 30% for medium-sized businesses and ETIs; completion of the project within 18 months of signing the agreement, and maintaining the activity in the area for at least 3 years.

The page states that businesses with fewer than 50 employees can be referred to the regional Pays de la Loire Investissement Numérique scheme, and that certain regional aid may be complementary. Eligibility depends on the full regulation and the business's situation; the published rates should not be applied automatically to all expenses.
