An overview of local economic support

For a micro-business or SME located in a rural area, the costs of setting up, compliance upgrades, digital transformation or business development can weigh on cash flow. Local grants can contribute to certain expenses if the business, its activity and its project comply with the applicable regulation. The catalogue records thirteen schemes, organised here by need.

Who may be concerned?

According to the fact sheets, potential beneficiaries include craft businesses registered with the RNE, shops, service providers, farming businesses, micro-businesses, social and solidarity economy structures, business groupings or associations, and partnerships. Several fact sheets indicate turnover below €1 million excluding VAT or fewer than ten employees, as well as compliance with tax and social obligations. Some exclude regulated professions, SCIs or GFAs (agricultural land companies). These criteria are not necessarily the same for all thirteen schemes: check each regulation.

Which expenses are covered?

The categories recorded cover connection to very high-speed broadband, equipment and rent for shared workspaces, market studies, legal fees and certain investments linked to an acquisition or a business transfer, trade shows, compliance upgrades, modernisation, tourism promotion, and apprentice mobility. The expenses must correspond to the specific scheme and be evidenced by quotes and invoices. Do not assume that expenses already committed are admissible.

How to prepare an application

Confirm that the scheme is open

Contact the relevant department of the communauté de communes and ask for the dated regulation, the submission timetable and the available budget.

Check eligibility

Have the geographic scope, the eligible activity and legal form, the headcount or turnover thresholds, and any exclusions confirmed.

Validate expenses before commitment

Have the eligible expenses, the dates used, the required quotes and the combination rules checked. Wait for approval if the regulation requires it.

Put together the application

Prepare proof of registration, the project description, quotes, the financing plan and the requested certificates.

Points of caution

Check whether the rates apply to expenses excluding or including VAT, whether a minimum threshold exists, whether the job-creation bonuses are still provided for, and whether regional or European grants exclude combination. The amounts in the reference database are not a promise of award.

Frequently asked questions

Are all thirteen grants currently open?

The open status of each of the thirteen lines could not be confirmed by an up-to-date official page. Ask the communauté de communes for a current list of usable schemes.
