Frequently asked questions about funders

What is the difference between a funder and a grant scheme?

A funder is the organisation that grants an aid — the State, a region, ADEME, a metropolitan area. A scheme or grant is the concrete programme it runs, with its own eligibility criteria, amounts and deadlines.

Each funder profile in this directory lists the grants actually referenced and validated for that organisation.

Why don't Urssaf or the tax authorities appear as grant funders?

These bodies manage social contributions, taxes or filings, but do not directly grant subsidies or public aid as such. This directory therefore does not present them on the same footing as genuine funding organisations.

Does this directory cover every funder in France?

No: it presents only the organisations for which at least one profile has been written and validated by Capital OS's editorial team. New funders are added progressively.

How can I tell whether a funder can support my business?

Each funder profile lists its associated grants, but actual eligibility depends on criteria specific to your business — sector, size, location, project. A personalised assessment checks these before any conclusion.
