High-Performance Cooling Systems in Overseas Territories and Corsica
The call targeted public and private owners of commercial and public-sector (tertiary) buildings in Corsica and the overseas territories, for renovation of buildings over 1,000 m². It supported feasibility studies and investment in high-efficiency air-conditioning systems, with possible coupling to solar PV or a heat source. The call closed on 15 October 2026 at 3 pm.
In commercial and public buildings in France’s overseas territories and Corsica, air conditioning can account for a large share of electricity use. ADEME launched a call for projects to support studies and investments replacing inefficient systems with highly energy-efficient cooling installations.

Who can apply
The scheme targeted public and private owners of tertiary buildings in Corsica, Guadeloupe, French Guiana, Réunion, Martinique, Mayotte, New Caledonia, French Polynesia, Saint-Barthélemy, Saint-Martin or Wallis and Futuna. Operations had to concern existing tertiary buildings of more than 1,000 m².
Eligibility conditions
The project had to be part of a renovation and replace an inefficient air-conditioning system with a highly energy-efficient solution. The specifications and technical guidance set out the performance levels, studies, equipment and documents to provide. The call is now closed; a new application is only possible if a new edition is published.
What the scheme covers
The call covered feasibility studies to optimise sizing and investment in high-performance air-conditioning installations. It encouraged water-cooled systems (and possibly air-cooled ones), coupling with solar PV, and cooling produced from heat by adsorption or absorption.
Amount and funding terms
The rate and cap depend on the specifications and the cost category (study or investment). The official page does not support a single rate for all projects. Applicants had to cost the feasibility study, the installation, the expected performance and any solar coupling according to the 2026 technical guidance.
How to apply
To prepare a similar project, characterise the building, floor area, cooling needs and existing system. Commission a technical and energy feasibility study, compare solutions and document the performance. Read ADEME’s specifications and guidance before applying for funding; the 2026 call no longer accepts applications.
Timeline
Call open from 16 February to 15 October 2026 at 3 pm; closed. ADEME plans to publish the list of winners on the official page.
