International Guarantee
The Garantie de Projets à l’International covers up to 50% of the capital a French company invests in a foreign subsidiary, for creation, acquisition of a stake or growth projects. It covers the subsidiary's economic risk and excludes political risk, relocations and financial restructurings. It should not be confused with a standard loan guarantee.
Financing international expansion can involve several Bpifrance guarantee mechanisms. A guarantee on a loan to the company must be distinguished from the Garantie de Projets à l’International (GPI, international project guarantee), which covers part of the capital invested in a foreign subsidiary.
