A grant does not replace risk assessment
Prevention starts with assessing occupational risks and implementing appropriate measures. Grants from Assurance Maladie – Occupational Risks can help fund equipment, training, diagnostics or a prevention program. They do not exempt the employer from its health and safety obligations, and should not be considered secured before the application has been approved.
What types of projects can be supported?
The schemes recorded cover in particular fume and dust extraction, chemical risks, fall-prevention equipment, flour dust, ergonomic risks and psychosocial risks. A prevention contract (contrat de prévention) may also be considered where a national objectives agreement (convention nationale d'objectifs) exists for the sector. Eligible expenses vary from one grant to another: compliant equipment, technical inspection, related training, diagnostics or support services.
Who can apply?
Many Prévention TPE grants target businesses with 1 to 49 employees under the general social security scheme, subject to each scheme's own criteria. Some grants have sector-specific conditions or precise risk codes; the ergonomic grant covers a broader scope and also provides for specific conditions for self-employed workers. The prevention contract is distinct and may apply to businesses with fewer than 200 employees if a national objectives agreement covers their activity.
What cross-cutting rules should be checked in 2026?
The official Assurance Maladie page published on January 7, 2026 specifies that the de minimis rule applies to Prévention grants: the total de minimis aid granted by public authorities is capped at €300,000 over a three-year period. The usual administrative criteria may also include a recent update of the single occupational risk assessment document (DUERP), up-to-date Urssaf contributions, the absence of certain formal notices or additional contributions, and membership of an occupational health service. The exact list depends on each scheme's fact sheet.
How to secure your application?
- Identify the risk and the prevention measure to be funded.
- Choose the grant that precisely matches the equipment, service or training.
- Download the official fact sheet and the applicable technical documents.
- Check headcount, social security scheme, risk code, combination rules and available budget.
- Confirm whether the purchase must be made before or after the application, and whether placing an early order makes the expense ineligible.
- Keep quotes, invoices, proof of payment, supplier certificates and proof of completion.
- Submit the application following the official procedure, generally via the business account on Net-entreprises when the fact sheet specifies it.

FAQ — frequently asked questions
Are the grants automatic?
No. Each scheme is subject to criteria, a complete application and budget availability. The catalog does not constitute a decision to award.
Can an expense that has already been incurred be funded?
It depends on the scheme. Check the eligibility date for investments and the application procedure before signing a quote or placing an order.
Does the 300,000 € cap apply to all public aid?
The de minimis rule governs the combination of de minimis aid granted by public authorities. The official Assurance Maladie page states that it applies to Prévention grants from 2026. Have the exact combined total verified for your business.
Can businesses with more than 49 employees receive support?
Some Prévention TPE grants target businesses with 1 to 49 employees. The prevention contract may apply to a business with fewer than 200 employees under certain conditions, and the ergonomic risk grant has a broader scope. The right scheme needs to be chosen.
