Development loan for publishing houses (CNL)
The CNL loan can fund certain investment and operating costs linked to publishing development. It can cover up to 50% of the project, without exceeding 15% of net accounting turnover from book sales. Companies must in particular show a structured publishing activity, annual book sales above €100,000 and bookshop outlets. The next indicative dates are 5 March and 27 August 2027.
Developing a publishing house may require strengthening working capital, reorganising distribution, broadening the publishing programme or taking over a backlist. The Centre national du livre (CNL) offers an interest-free loan to support the development and long-term future of independent publishing houses meeting precise criteria. The official page publishes application deadlines for 2027.

The CNL loan cannot be combined with an IFCIC loan for the same financing.
