prêt d'honneur — Réseau Entreprendre Paris
The Réseau Entreprendre Paris prêt d’honneur combines financing in the form of a prêt d’honneur with entrepreneurial support, according to the local branch’s terms. The application must clearly set out the business model, market, financing need, resources already secured and prospects for creating or developing jobs. The detailed criteria must be checked against the official rules in force. Details from the catalogue: the scheme aims in particular to help founders and buyers of job-creating SMEs with strong growth potential to emerge and succeed, over 2 years, through human support — entrepreneurs are supported monthly for 2 years by one or more members who mentor them, help them step back and ask themselves the right questions. They also join a club of 10 companies that meet every month to grow together as peers; network life — the community benefits from a strong local network that meets regularly at events such as round tables, practical workshops, inspiring lunches, expert drop-in sessions, afterworks and evenings; and financial support — entrepreneurs whose company has been registered for less than 3 years can receive a prêt d’honneur. A leverage effect is observed with banks.
The Réseau Entreprendre Paris prêt d’honneur is for entrepreneurs who want to structure a start-up, a takeover or, where local criteria allow, a growth phase. The scheme is about more than financing: the application must also show the strength of the project, the manager’s ability to run it and the value of entrepreneurial support. For the Réseau Entreprendre Paris branch, the first step is to confirm the area covered and the selection criteria currently applied.

Who can apply
Beneficiaries mentioned in the catalogue: founders of start-ups with strong growth potential, aiming eventually to create a significant number of jobs (at least 10 within 3 years), with a financing need corresponding to that of a future SME (over €100,000) and a desire to stand out in the market. Business buyers strongly committed to giving the acquired company fresh momentum (keeping 8 jobs at the date of the takeover).
Eligibility conditions
The founder(s) (bound by a shareholders’ agreement) must hold a majority of the capital of the company created; projects in which a Réseau Entreprendre® Paris member is a shareholder are not eligible, save in exceptional cases and with full transparency towards the board of directors. However, if that member is a very small minority shareholder (less than 10%) of a financial company that itself holds shares in the project, the project may be presented. Managing the company created or acquired must be the founder’s exclusive activity; the founder must have a real need for support and wish to receive it, and must share Réseau Entreprendre® Paris’s values and apply them in their company. Réseau Entreprendre® Paris steps in during the crucial start-up phase of the new company, when support is most effective — at commercial launch and up to 18 months after the business starts (longer in the case of a long R&D phase). For a takeover, support takes place at an advanced stage of the transaction (after the business plan is drawn up and before the sale agreement). If the takeover has already taken place, the association does not step in more than 6 months after it. The registered office and the project’s activity must be located within the city of Paris.
