Planisols: Support for Land Sobriety and Limiting Soil Artificialisation in Territorial Strategies
The 2026 Planisols call targeted local authorities and public bodies in five pilot regions: Brittany, Grand Est, Hauts-de-France, Occitanie and Pays de la Loire. Actions could cover assessment, strategy and operational projects, with project management assistance services. The call closed on 2 October 2026 at 6 pm; it should not be treated as open for applications.
Areas that want to limit soil artificialisation (land take) need to know their land better, organise the conversion of sites and build land sobriety into their planning documents. Planisols, run by ADEME, offered technical and financial support to structure these strategies and prepare preservation or renaturation operations.

Who can apply
The call was aimed at local authorities, inter-municipal bodies (EPCI), joint syndicates, territorial and rural balance hubs (PETR), urban planning agencies, public land agencies and territorial public bodies. Projects had to be in one of the five pilot regions. Private companies on their own were not among the categories of applicant listed on the official page.
Eligibility conditions
The project had to contribute to land sobriety, soil preservation and the zero net land take objective. Actions could be at regional, departmental, catchment-area, inter-municipal, municipal or operation level. The official timetable for the 2026 edition ended on 2 October 2026 at 6 pm.
What the scheme covers
Projects could cover land knowledge and assessment, sobriety strategies, urban master plans, development and programming guidelines, soil surveys on strategic sites or renaturation actions. ADEME also mentions possible support for project management assistance and for awareness-raising and training of elected officials, staff, residents and businesses.
Amount and funding terms
Eligible costs and calculation methods are set out in the 2026 eligibility and financing conditions. No universal rate for all local authorities or operations can be established from this information. For a future edition or a similar programme, cost studies, project management assistance, awareness-raising and the operations concerned separately, then check the cap and rate in the specifications.
How to apply
To prepare a future application, map the areas concerned and soil issues, define the assessment and strategy deliverables, identify land and planning partners, then draw up a budget by phase. Read the specifications and contact ADEME before applying. For the 2026 edition, follow the official page for the winners and any follow-up.
Timeline
Call open from 2 February to 2 October 2026 at 6 pm; closed. The ADEME page states that the list of winners will be published later. No late application should be treated as admissible.
