Equipment for Wood-Fired Boiler Supply under the Renewable Heat Fund and/or Plan de Relance and/or France 2030

ADEME can support companies, local authorities and associations investing in supply platforms, the preparation and storage of wood fuel, or forestry equipment for the wood energy sector.

This aid targets the upstream links of the wood energy chain: logistics platforms, preparation of quality fuel and forestry equipment for producing wood energy. The aim is to secure supply for boilers supported by public policy, with a local resource and controlled fuel quality.

Who can apply

Companies, local authorities and associations with a biomass energy supply project may be eligible. Eligibility also depends on the equipment’s role in the supply chain and its link to the regional organisation of the sector.

Eligibility conditions

The project must help mobilise biomass resources in sufficient quantity and quality for wood boilers. The application must specify the resource mobilised, annual volumes, fuel quality, outlets and consistency with the needs of the target boilers.

What the scheme covers

The ADEME page mentions creating or fitting out supply platforms, equipment to produce quality fuel, forestry equipment for producing wood energy, and fuel preparation and storage. Drying firewood logs for domestic heating is also mentioned.

Amount and funding terms

The rate and cap depend on the type of equipment, the applicant and the funding framework used (Heat Fund, Recovery Plan or France 2030, depending on the operation). The 2026 page gives no universal cap; the application must be reviewed under the financial conditions for the investment category.

How to apply

Present the supply plan, biomass volumes and origins, client boilers, storage/preparation capacity and investment plan. Contact ADEME’s regional office before applying to identify the applicable funding framework and confirm the equipment’s eligibility.

Timeline

ADEME’s 2026 page shows the aid as running from 1 January to 31 December 2026, in all regions. Funds and conditions vary by funding framework: prior validation is recommended before ordering equipment.
