Toulouse Métropole solar grant

Local aid for photovoltaic installations feeding the grid or for self-consumption, individual or collective, and for solar water heaters. It concerns adult private individuals, businesses and associations based in one of the 37 municipalities of the Métropole.

Do you operate a building in Toulouse Métropole and want to reduce your electricity or hot water bill? The solar grant can help finance a photovoltaic installation or a solar water heater. For a business, the benefit is reducing the upfront cost of equipment that produces part of the energy consumed on site. The amount depends on the type of installation and, for photovoltaics, on an ADEME reference cost.

Who can apply

Adult private individuals whose main residence is in one of the 37 municipalities, with no income ceiling, provided the building is at least two years old; businesses and associations whose premises are in the same territory.

Eligibility conditions

The project must involve an eligible installation with photovoltaic power below 300 kWp, carried out by an RGE QualiPV-certified professional. Excluded: new buildings less than two years old, third-party investment and solar kits. The Métropole limits the aid to one project per year per beneficiary. Applications are reviewed within the limits of the funds allocated.

What the scheme covers

Rooftop, carport or ground-mounted photovoltaic systems, feeding the grid or for individual or collective self-consumption, as well as solar thermal water heaters, are covered. The aid helps reduce the initial investment, but the sizing should be studied on the basis of consumption, available surface area and connection constraints.

Amount and funding terms

The grant is 25% of the amount excluding VAT, with caps depending on the power and an announced maximum of €15,000 per project. For photovoltaics, the calculation is capped at ADEME’s average cost for a comparable installation if the quote exceeds this benchmark. For solar thermal, the grant is 25% of the cost excluding VAT, capped at €300/m² and €1,000 in total. Check the combination rules: national and local aid can no longer be combined for certain photovoltaic installations whose connection request was made after 9 October 2021.

How to apply

Consult the agreement and the combination rules, have the quote drawn up and the installation carried out by a qualified professional, then submit the application on the Toulouse Métropole platform with the supporting documents requested. Applications are processed in order of arrival and within the limits of the budget. The Métropole indicates a processing time of about one month for complete applications.
