Support for Independent Hotels
The official regional page consulted requires a complete application before any start. It distinguishes consultancy aid (up to 50%, cap €20,000, minimum costs €5,000) from investment aid (up to 30%, cap €180,000, minimum €40,000), with conditional bonuses. These parameters are more precise than the catalogue wording and must be confirmed when applying. Targeted operations: use of an external consultant to define, carry out or develop hotel projects; as part of an overall project, an investment programme aimed at: renovating and upgrading the hotel; developing the hotel, including moving upmarket, creating rooms and/or services and diversification facilities that increase overnight stays and length of stay.
Independent hotels in a municipality with fewer than 40,000 inhabitants: check the current or targeted classification, the size of the business, the location outside excluded zones and the involvement of the inter-municipal body in funding the property. Contact the Tourism Department before starting works. Prepare the overall hotel plan, quotes, classification, financing plan, energy/water/construction waste eco-conditions and confirmation of the EPCI’s participation.

Who can apply
Independent hotels or hotel-restaurants located in a municipality with fewer than 40,000 inhabitants in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté: rated 2 stars with at least 10 rooms when applying, or rated at least 3 stars or aiming for that rating after works, and committed to the Qualité Tourisme scheme. Operating businesses have priority. SCIs, franchisees and public project owners are eligible under conditions. Targeted check: confirm the location and business size against the definition used by the funder.
Eligibility conditions
The Region’s participation is conditional on participation by the competent EPCI for investment projects involving business property. Projects must meet the base level of the following 3 regional eco-condition themes: energy, construction waste, water. Checkpoint before committing: Contact the Tourism Department before starting works. Prepare the overall hotel plan, quotes, classification, financing plan, energy/water/construction waste eco-conditions and confirmation of the EPCI’s participation.
What the scheme covers
Use of an external consultant to define, carry out or develop hotel projects; as part of an overall project, an investment programme aimed at: renovating and upgrading the hotel; developing the hotel, including moving upmarket, creating rooms and/or services and diversification facilities that increase overnight stays and length of stay. Before signing: obtain detailed quotes and check whether costs must be committed after the application or approval.
Amount and funding terms
Grant whose amount will depend on the project. A bonus may be added if the project reaches levels 1 and 2 in one of the eco-condition themes and/or aims for the Tourisme & Handicap label, as follows: a bonus of €5,000 if the project reaches level 1 and €10,000 if it reaches level 2 in one of the eco-condition themes, up to €20,000 per project; a bonus of €10,000 for projects aiming for the Tourisme et Handicap label. Total bonuses may not raise the Region’s support above 40% of the project’s eligible cost. Do not treat the amount announced as an automatic entitlement: the aid depends on the applicable rules, the eligibility of costs and available funds.
How to apply
Recommended steps: 1) check the area and the business profile; 2) have the eligible costs and start date confirmed in writing; 3) prepare detailed quotes, a financing plan, proof of registration and the required certificates; 4) ask for the form and the rules in force; 5) keep proof of submission and wait for the funder’s confirmation before any spending if the rules require it. Contact the Tourism Department before starting works. Prepare the overall hotel plan, quotes, classification, financing plan, energy/water/construction waste eco-conditions and confirmation of the EPCI’s participation.
Can I start spending before applying?

Which documents should I prepare?
At a minimum, prepare detailed quotes, the financing plan, proof of registration and location, and the specific documents listed by the funder in its rules or form.
Is the amount indicated guaranteed?
No. The catalogue amount must be confirmed in the current rules and depends on the cost base accepted, caps, combination rules and available funds.
