Business grants in the Hauts-de-France: what funding can you draw on?
Discover business grants in the Hauts-de-France: investment, SME development, tourism, innovation, ecological transition and funding. Check the conditions in the official sources.
In brief
Businesses in the Hauts-de-France can look for different support schemes: investment grants, SME development, innovation, industrial projects, know-how tourism, ecological transition, recruitment or support services. The instruments, beneficiaries and terms vary from scheme to scheme. You need to check the regulations in force, the filing dates, eligible expenses, and the role of each body before building a financing plan.
The Région's role
The Région Hauts-de-France is active in economic development and may carry schemes directly or together with the State, operators and local partners. The Hauts-de-France Entreprises portal is an entry point for directing businesses according to their needs. For innovation schemes falling under regionalised France 2030, the calls for projects and operating terms must be checked on the dedicated portal.
Which families of grants should you look at?
The catalogue associated with the funder can be browsed by major editorial families: funding and guarantees; investment and SME development; industry and modernisation; innovation and research; tourism and know-how; ecological transition; employment and skills; export and entrepreneurial support. These families are intended to make reading easier: they are not an official taxonomy of the Région.
Productive investment and SME development
For an investment project, examine the size of the business, its age, its location in the region, the amount of the programme, the nature of the equipment, and excluded expenses. Some pages in the database present investment thresholds or conditions specific to a partner territory; do not transpose these criteria from one page to another.
Industry, innovation and France 2030
Innovation, R&D or sector transformation projects may fall under separate calls for projects. The regionalised France 2030 Hauts-de-France programme has, in particular, areas dedicated to innovation projects, sectors, collaborative R&D projects, and innovative training. Check the open calls, the timeline and the operator indicated for each area.
Know-how tourism and opening to the public
Some schemes can support businesses opening to the public and the promotion of know-how. Depending on the component, support may concern a prior audit, studies, design, fit-out works, or equipment. Check the opening criteria, the target audience, eligible expenses, caps and the timeline before including these grants in a budget.
Ecological transition, energy and mobility
Projects relating to energy performance, eco-design or impact reduction may fall under regional, national, or ADEME schemes. The fact that a grant appears in a catalogue linked to the territory does not mean that the Région is the main funder. Identify the body carrying the scheme, the technical criteria, any prior diagnostics, and the combination rules.
Employment, training and support
Recruitment, training or new-activity structuring needs can be addressed through grants, support pathways, or partner operators. The criteria may concern the candidate's profile, the length of the contract, the training, the size of the business, and the commitment to maintain the activity.
How to check your eligibility?
Before any application, check: (1) the business's legal form and size; (2) the location of the establishment; (3) the sector and project; (4) the planned expenses and their commitment date; (5) the caps and combination rules; (6) the filing timeline; (7) the supporting documents; (8) the body that receives and processes the application. In most cases, it is prudent not to commit expenses before having checked the applicable rules.
How to use the Capital OS catalogue?
The list below reproduces the 85 grant-funder relationships listed in the Capital OS database for the Région Hauts-de-France identifier (1391). It is a starting point for research, not a certified list of schemes that are all open or directly operated by the Région.
Does the Région Hauts-de-France fund all the grants listed?
No. The link in the database indicates a recorded relationship with this funder, but some measures may be operated by a partner, co-financed, or concern a particular territory. The funder, the processing body and the beneficiary must be checked on the official page.
Which businesses can benefit from the grants?
It depends on the scheme: micro-businesses, SMEs, mid-caps, industrial businesses, retailers, tourism businesses or other audiences may be targeted. The criteria for headcount, revenue, age, location, and sector vary from one page to another.
Are expenses committed before the application eligible?
Not necessarily. Some programmes require the application to be filed before the project starts or before expenses are committed. Check this point in the official regulations before signing a quote or starting any work.
How to find out the grant amount?
The amount can be a flat rate, a percentage of expenses, a loan, a guarantee, or support subject to a cap. When the amount is not explicit in the database, you need to check the official page and its appendices.
Where to start your search?
Start with the Hauts-de-France Entreprises portal and the official portal of the scheme you are looking for. For regionalised France 2030, check the portal dedicated to calls for projects. The national Service-Public Entreprendre database also allows grants to be searched by territory, project, or funding body.
Official entry point
Hauts-de-France Financement: distinguishing funds from direct grants
The regional economic development scheme describes two channels of intervention: direct grants to businesses and the solutions grouped under Hauts-de-France Financement. This distinction is important for explaining to the business whether it is applying for a grant, a loan, a guarantee, or another financial instrument. The strategy framework provides the general context, but the product actually available, the intermediary, the criteria, and the conditions must be confirmed on the page or with the operator.
Regionalised France 2030: the calls have their own timelines
The regionalised France 2030 calls target individual or collaborative innovation projects, with criteria on project size, expenses, and strategic areas. The "Projets d'Avenir Filières" page indicates a deadline of 30 June 2026, now past as of 13 October 2026; do not present it as open without a new edition. For the other calls, check the specifications, the submission rounds, any mandatory research partner, and the receipt date for the complete application.
Local grants in addition to regional support
The regional framework provides that EPCIs may, under conditions and agreements, supplement the funding of regional grants. The database must therefore distinguish the regional grant from the local contribution, and avoid counting two independent schemes when the second contribution is only co-financing. For each line, note the municipality, the EPCI, the reference regional scheme, the agreement in force, and the combination rules.
Industrial priorities: check the sector and the project's structure
The regionalised France 2030 documents mention priority sectors such as bioresources, the circular economy, decarbonised energy efficiency, embedded AI, precision health, and maritime ambition. However, matching a sector is not enough on its own to guarantee eligibility: check the innovative nature of the project, eligible expenses, the size of the support sought, the partners, and the period of the call. The criteria of each edition take precedence over the general priorities of the regional scheme.
