Business grants in the Grand Est: what schemes can you draw on?
Discover Grand Est business grants: investment, retail, industry, innovation, ecological transition, export and takeover. Check the official criteria and regulations.
In brief
The Région Grand Est offers a search portal for regional and European grants. The schemes cover varied needs: economic development, productive investments, local shops, ecological transition, agriculture and forestry, innovation, training, culture and tourism. The criteria, amounts, beneficiaries and timelines vary greatly from one measure to another. A link in the Capital OS database is not enough on its own to prove that a grant is still open or that the Région is its sole operator.
Where to search for Grand Est grants?
The priority entry point is the Région Grand Est's official portal "Vos aides régionales & européennes", which allows filtering by beneficiary and topic. For European programmes, the BE EUROPE guide supplements the search. Businesses must then read each scheme's page and its regulations: summaries and overview pages do not replace the official criteria.
Which families of schemes should you look at?
To make the search easier, the catalogue's 116 pages are classified into editorial categories: retail and trades; funding, investment and economic development; ecological transition; agriculture, forestry and agri-food; innovation and digital; employment and skills; tourism; culture and heritage; local territories and services. This classification is a Capital OS navigation tool, not an official taxonomy of the Région.
Productive investment and business development
Investment projects must be examined with regard to the sector, the size of the business, the location, the programme amount, and eligible expenses. The Région in particular provides for a declaration of intent process for certain economic development schemes: the application must be made before committing the relevant expenses. The criteria and rates differ from one scheme to another.
Local shops and trades
Some schemes target the creation, takeover, renovation or modernisation of local shops, in particular in rural town centres. The criteria may depend on the number of employees, revenue, the nature of the premises, the municipality or intercommunality, and the nature of the expenses. Also check the possible co-financing share from the EPCI.
Takeover, restructuring and job preservation
Grants can support certain takeover or restructuring projects when jobs and regional activity need to be preserved. The conditions are specific and may require a strategic and financial audit, a minimum number of jobs preserved, a judicial procedure, or prior contact with the Région.
Innovation and regionalised France 2030
For an R&D, innovation or sector transformation project, check the regional calls for projects and the associated operators. The page may fall under a regional, national or European scheme; the programme's name is not enough on its own to identify the funder or the processing body.
Ecological transition, energy and CSR
Businesses can seek support for environmental strategy, energy efficiency, decarbonisation or process transformation. Some support covers a consulting service rather than an investment; others require a registered provider or a prior application.
Agriculture, forestry, tourism and specific sectors
The regional portal also lists schemes for agricultural and forestry sectors, tourism and cultural activities. Grants may be co-financed by European funds and have deadlines specific to each call. Check the dates, sector eligibility and combination rules when preparing the application.
How to check eligibility before filing an application?
Before committing any expenses, check: (1) the eligible entity and its size; (2) the address of the establishment; (3) the sector of activity; (4) eligible investments or expenses; (5) the minimum amount and caps; (6) the intervention rate; (7) the timeline and deadline; (8) the combination rules; (9) the supporting documents; (10) the body that processes and pays the grant. A grant shown on the portal may be closed, reserved for a specific territory, or subject to a prior declaration of intent.
How to use the Capital OS catalogue?
The catalogue below gathers 116 records linked to the Région Grand Est in the Capital OS database. This is a working inventory: some lines may represent local variants, co-financed programmes, or schemes operated by a partner. Before recommending a grant, you need to check that an official page exists, its status, its timeline, the actual funder, and the applicable regulations.
Are all the grants in the catalogue directly funded by the Région?
Not necessarily. Some measures may be co-financed by an EPCI, the State or a European fund, or implemented by a partner operator. The official page specifies the body carrying the scheme, the terms and the conditions.
Are all the grants currently open?
No. The status may vary depending on the filing date, the exhaustion of the budget envelope, or the closing of a call for projects. Check the deadline and the status of the online service on the official page at the time of the application.
Can expenses be committed before applying for a grant?
It depends on the scheme. Some measures require a declaration of intent or the filing of the application before any order, signing of a quote, or start of the project. You need to check this point before making a commitment.
How to find out the amount actually available?
Support can take the form of a grant, a zero-interest loan, support services, or co-financing. The rates, caps, eligible expenses and calculation criteria are specific to each scheme and must be read in the regulations.
Where to start the search?
Use the regional grants portal, then filter according to the profile and the project. For European schemes, also check BE EUROPE. You can supplement this search with the national Service-Public Entreprendre database.

Declaration of intent: check the procedure before the full application
The Grand Est portal references a declaration of intent procedure for certain economic development schemes. This step should not be generalised to all grants: check on the page of the scheme in question whether the declaration is mandatory, at what point it must be filed, and whether it conditions the eligibility of expenses. In the project timeline, plan for this check before signed quotes, orders, deposits or works when the regulations require a prior filing.
ACCOR: grants for rural shops and listing duplicates
The master database contains several identifiers linked to support for rural shops for town-centre revitalisation (ACCOR), including lines with identical titles but different sources or dates. Before displaying a single public page or several schemes, cross-check the IDs, the territories, the regulations, any co-funders and the scale versions. Do not automatically merge the database's lines: distinguish between a technical duplicate and a territorial variant or a partnership. The official ACCOR page should be the main reference for the current regulations.
Chèque CREA: account for online service interruptions
Chèque CREA is listed as an example of a business creation scheme. The regional source indicated a temporary interruption of the online service from 1 November 2026 to 11 January 2027. This interruption period must therefore be clearly displayed, and the existence of the scheme must be distinguished from the possibility of filing an application on a given date. Before any publication or recommendation, check whether filings are open, suspended, or subject to a new version of the procedure.
Combining regional grants and European programmes
The regional portal and the BE EUROPE entry point allow regional and European schemes to be identified. For each project, identify the programme, the managing authority, the operator, the timeline and the eligible expenses. The eligibility, co-financing, competitive tendering and supporting document rules may differ from standard regional grants. A closed European call should remain available for historical reference or preparation of a future edition, without appearing as an open opportunity.
